Mark became a qualified lawyer in June 2000. He was drawn to the legal field for its intellectual challenges, especially in dispute work.

 

Background

Prior to becoming a consultant solicitor, Mark held the position of a Commercial Litigation Partner and was the Head of the Property Litigation Department at a national law firm with branches in London, Milton Keynes, and Gatwick.

Mark’s litigation practice is diverse, encompassing contract disputes, partnership and joint venture disagreements, and contested wills, trust, and probate issues. His vast experience ensures there are few areas of commercial litigation he hasn’t encountered or is incapable of handling.

 

Having headed the property litigation department, Mark has specialised knowledge in all aspects of property disputes, ranging from construction, party wall, and rights of light issues to occupational disputes like landlord and tenant disagreements, as well as breaches of contract and negligence claims.

 

Highlights

  • While training as a solicitor, Mark practiced criminal law, attending autopsies and encountering figures from the criminal underworld. He was involved in a groundbreaking videolink trial in 1999/2000 when the judge was hospitalised.
  • As a commercial litigation professional, Mark played a crucial role in the high-profile Wembley Stadium litigation, which involved legal costs exceeding £22 million. He also skillfully managed a pivotal Court of Appeal case within a tight 15-day timeframe.
  • In 2012, Mark introduced a novel legal point in the Court of Appeal, resulting in a significant legal precedent related to commercial lease renewals. This innovation was a testament to Mark’s exceptional legal acumen.
