Jonathan is an employment and commercial services lawyer with 23 years of post-qualification experience acting for institutional clients, multi-national PLCs, SMEs, Start-Ups, owner-managed businesses, senior employees and self-employed professionals.
Jonathan advises on all aspects of employment law, day-to-day HR matters, drafts contract and policy documentation for all kinds of staff across a wide range of industry sectors,  works to achieve the early resolution of employment disputes and advises on the employment aspects of commercial transactions and corporate restructurings.
Jonathan also specialises in advising on commercial arrangements for the provision of staff and services that fall outside of the standard employment model, including professional services and staffing supply arrangements and self-employed /consultancy/sub-contractor services contracts, advising on employment status and the application of IR35, agency and other intermediaries legislation.

For almost all of his career, Jonathan has worked as an employment and commercial services lawyer for full-service City Firms or niche firms run by lawyers with a Magic Circle/US firm background, acting as the employment department head for two of the firms he has worked for, one of which he helped to establish.
